Being a military family, it isn't always easy picking. First. Moving across the U.S every few years has its ups and downs.
Last year we moved from Baltimore, Maryland to Syracuse, New York. The move took a toll on us all, but things are starting to look up. My oldest was starting her first year of Middle school, and my little one was starting first grade. New school, new friends, and a new statwereas exciting and scary all at the same time. It is difficult to say goodbye to our home, best friends, family, and my clients in Houston. However, we happened to get lucky, and we were stationed there for over 7.5 years; that does not usually happen, so I felt we had a home, a real chance to grow my photography business, and an opportunity for my girls to feel somewhat of everyday life ( whatever that is, ha ).
Our first move from Florida was the hardest, especially for my oldest, who never had been away from our family in Florida. It was heartbreaking and depressing for the first two years. It was rough. Photography allowed me to escape my depression and made me feel a part of something. I enjoyed being creative and capturing the love between all different families! I have photographed over 500 families in Houston, and I feel so blessed to have gotten to know everyone. I hope my clients all know how much I love and miss them. They are the reason I am where I am today and the reason I have pulled myself out of a dark and lonely place
So this is why these photos mean so much to me! My daughter and her best friend became instant best friends, and it was only fitting to photograph such a beautiful friendship in my eyes. I am so glad I finally had a chance to create a memory that will last an eternity in their hearts. I'm going to go out on a limb and say these are my all-time favorite photos! This memory will be everlasting, and it's so d,r to my heart that I get to portray my daughter's memories. Teenage years go by fast, and this will forever be instilled in both seats. This is why I love photography so much; I create beautiful images you can share with your family for the rest of your life.
